Quoting nifrtity

Beni Unutma song by Emre Aydin

Bugün dağıldım, bugün yoktum.
Ömrüm dedim, kat izlerin hep.
Ömrüm, ömrüm yokluğun.

Today I was scattered, today I was absent

I said my life, your floor traces.

My life, my life is your absence.

Bugün siyahtım, bugün bıktım
Ömrüm dedim kül izlerin hep.
Ömrüm, baş ucunda unuttun.

I was black today, I was sicken today

I said my life, it is all your ash traces

My life, you forgot it on your bedside.

Yoksun, yoksun yanımda.
Geçecek demiştin ya,
Geçmedi duruyor hala.

You are absent, you are not near me.

You said that it would pass

It didn´t, it still remains

Yoksun, yoksun yanımda.
Bu puslu kalanlarda,
Yoksun yanımda.

Unutma, Beni Unutma.

You are absent, you are not near me.

In this hazy leftovers.

You are not near me.

Don´t forget, don´t forget me.

Bugün pustum, Bugün korktum.
Ömrüm dedin son sözlerin hep
Ömrüm, ömrüm yokluğun.

I crouched down today, I was scared today.

I said my life, it is all your words.

My life, my life is your absence.

Bugün üveydim, bugün kıştım.
Ömrüm dedim sen istedin hep,
Ömrüm, sen vuruldun.

I was adopted today, I was winter today.

I said my life, you wanted always.

My life, you were hit.

Yoksun, yoksun yanımda.
Geçecek demiştin ya,
Geçmedi duruyor hala.

You are absent, you are not near me.

You said that it would pass

It didn´t, it still remains.

Yoksun, yoksun yanımda.
Bu puslu kalanlarda,
Yoksun yanımda.

Unutma, Beni Unutma

You are absent, you are not near me.

In this hazy leftovers.

You are not near me.

Don´t forget, don´t forget me.

Another one...I must have done something right. Thank you, scalpel.

I understand gokuyum was more merciful with my bad style. And often in Turkish, that´s what I have noticed, better means shorter, more simple. If the English and Turkish sentences are as long there is something wrong with the translation. I can only imagine how my "labyrinths" sound.

What´s wrong with hiç? Its basic meaning is ´never´.

Your style is not bad. There are many ways to express something. For example you can say hiçbir zaman, other can say asla. Not everybody speak Turkish in same way. I respected your style and didn´t touch it.

I have some small objections to scalpel about touching the style of the text but they are not important. I want to discuss this sentence which I spent some time while translating.

This is (the girl whose car my sister saw hit that tree last week).

Bu, kız kardeşımın, arabası geçen hafta o ağaca çarptığını gördüğü kız.

I think if we translate this sentence as scalpel translated it means:

This is the girl who my sister saw hit her car that tree last week.

But in the text it doesn´t say she hit her car. It says her car hit that tree. There is a difference.

I thought about this a lot and decided to translate like that:

arabasının geçen hafta o ağaca çarptığını gördüğü kız

I wonder what tunci and si think about this?

I have kids so we play a lot with the Wii.  The kiddos love the sports and dance games because they get to move around.

I have never played with Wii. But I appreciate the console´s new approach to the games. I only play PC games.

I´m a HOG (hidden object games) maniac, but there has to be a big part with adventure point-and-click thing as well. Also, I´m addicted to Jewel Quest match3 games. Strangely enough other match3 games do not do it for me, it has to be JQ

Very interesting.I also became a climbing addict after I had played Assasins Creed game series.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=voz6Xwwhezc
