Duymazlıktan geldi. You can also come across another version of it which is gramaticaly incorrect but common.

Duy-ma-maz-lıktan geldi. (Double negativity)

I guess you want to create a list. Here are more examples. I guess they are not too many.

1)Bilmezlikten gelmek

2)Görmezlikten gelmek

3)Anlamazlıktan gelmek

4)İşitmezlikten gelmek

"dır" and "den/dan beri" gives a continuity meaning and you can use it with past continous tense also.

Bir yıldır orada çalışıyordu.

Thank you for the post, Henry. I find tenses one of the most difficult things in Turkish to learn. When I am corrected I just accept it and shake my head. It´s difficult to get to the heart of the problem if you understand what I mean.

But I have learned something, too. What I learned shows in your examples: what is called perfect tense in English is actually present in the Turkish system: Bir yıldır Türkçe öğreniyorum. Actually it makes sense as the action takes place as well in the present moment as it did in the past.

"dır" means "for" here and "dan/den beri" means since. You should use them. You can use "dan/den beri" instead of "dır" but you cant do the opposite.

The main thing to know here is you can not make a subject definite with adding ı/i/u/ü. If you add this sufix subject will either transform to an object or it will need another noun and the suffix will function  as it is a possesive suffix or it will not mean anything.

Do you agree? Smile

Henry you cant make a word definite always with adding ı/i/u/ü suffix. Because verb also must allow the suffix.

Arabayı kim sürüyor? Who drives the car? (Here it is okay)

Yolculuğu ne kadar? This is wrong because u here can only be a possesive suffix. You need another noun here.

İstanbul yolculuğu ne kadar? How much is the İstanbul trip?

Yolculuğu yaptın mı? Did you do the trip? You see here it is definite because verb also allows it to be definite.

Video games are not my thing.

I prefer online blitz chess or hearts when I have some time. And solving sudoku puzzles (if it can be considered "playing") and "backgammon" when I am not sitting before a computer.

Also used to play "King" online (http://king.tr.net/) but that was long time ago.

I know only one game. It is traditional Turkish dama. And I dont know if I can play it online. Instead of solving puzzles I prefer reading books. Reading them really relaxes me and I feel like I am in Nirvana. But after reading a lot it loses its effect and then I prefer playing a video game to find the peace in my mind again.

I hate to cause a disappointment but I never play anything. I don´t have that room in my brain. But I often imagine things and write fiction. I guess it is my way of playing.

Ok, I admit, occasionally I can take a couple of rounds of Tetris or Pipe Dream. If it is even called playing.

It seems like we have something common. We like imagining things. That is why I like video games a lot. They take me away to new worlds. I also like reading fiction books a lot because of this.

I like playing video games. It is a good way to relax. I dont like to deal with long and difficult games because they make me stressed. But because of my curiosity I play them anyway. When I have money I buy games from steam but when I don´t, I think you guess what I do This month I finished these games:

1)Deus Ex Human Revolution and its dlc The Missing Link

2)Assasins Creed Brotherhood

3)Batman Arkham Asylum

4)Amnesia: Dark Descent

I am also planning to play Assasins Creed Revolutions and Batman Arkham City this month.

I wonder what you are playing.

Note : Unfortunately , there are still some people who are so naive to believe in such conmen, cheaters.. The people who lacks a proper religious education will always fall into a trap like this. If believers just read Quran by understanding it´s messages they would never fall into traps like this. May God guide those people into more reading instead of hearing things.

No need for Satan as long as such con men exist.
