Quoting trip

Merhaba! I imagine I have nothing correct in this song, but I´ve made a try anyway. I see in the dictionary that "nazlı" can be "one who feigns reluctance." That would seem to work here, but I don´t know how to express that in one word in English. I also know that "ay" can mean "moon," and I have seen translations on the web that use "moon," but that doesn´t seem quite right to me. ... But I´m sure you will tell me. ... Teşekkürler.

Nazlı Ay -- Oh, Coquette

Ay nazlı ay -- Oh, coquette, oh
gelin ay -- Oh, bride
Git ona söyle -- Go, tell him/her
Ah gücüme gidiyor yalnızlığım böyle -- Ah, in this way, my loneliness offends me ( look at gücüne gitmek)
Ah bu inadından az mı ağladım ben -- Ah, have I cried a little because of your obstinancy? ( this sentence means I have cried a lot )

Ay ay nazlı ay -- Oh, oh, coquette, oh
Git onun ülkesine -- Go to his country
Git onun beldesine -- Go to his city
Ay ay git söyle -- Oh, oh, go, tell him

Ay can mean oh and moon as you wrote. Maybe he uses both meanings in the song. I am not sure about that.

Quoting halturklondon

I´ve been working through Turkish and learnt the basics but now I´m teaching myself about ´shopping´ and you know when you´re clothes shopping with a friend and you ask them, does this suit me? well what is that in Turkish please? I have tried my best to translate from english to turkish and would be grateful if someone would be able to help me.

Does this suit me?

bu bana uygun mu?

Şimdiden teşekkürler

Uymak means to fit.

yakışmak is the verb you are asking about.

ex:

bu elbiese bana yakıştı mı?

Or

bu elbise bana yakışıyor mu?

Çeke Çeke Ben Bu Dertten Ölürüm
Seversen Ali´yi Değme Yarama
Ali´nin Yoluna Serim Veririm
Seversen Ali´yi Değme Yareme

Suffering from this sorrow I am going to die

If you love Ali dont touch my wound

I am willing to give my head for the cause of Ali

If you love Ali dont touch my wound

Ali´nin Yaresi Yar Yaresidir
Buna Merhem Olmaz Dil Yarasıdır
Ali´yi Sevmeyen Hakk´ın Nesidir
Seversen Ali´yi Değme Yareme

The wound of Ali is the wound of beloved

There is no medicine for it because it is a wound of heart

The one who doesnt love Ali, who he is to God?

If you love Ali dont touch my wound.

Bu Yurt Senin Değil Konar Göçersin
Ali´nin Dolusun Bir Gün İçersin
Körpe Kuzulardan Nasıl Geçersin
Seversen Ali´yi Değme Yareme
This land is not yours you are just a passenger
One day hopefully you will drink the drink of Ali
How can you turn away from these young lambs?
If you love Ali dont touch my wound.

Ilgıt Ilgıt Oldu Akıyor Kanım
Pir Yoluna Kurban Verilir Serim
Benim Derdim Bana Yeter Efendim
Seversen Ali´yi Değme Yareme
I am bleeding slowly
My head is given on the road of pir
My troubles are enough sir
If you love Ali dont touch my wound

Pir Sultan Abdal´ım Deftere Yazar
Hilebaz Yarinle Olur Mu Pazar
Pir Melhem Çalmazsa Yaralar Azar
seversen Ali´yi Değme Yareme
My Pir Sultan writes on a notebook
Is it possible to negotiate with a trickster?
If pir doesnt put ointment, my wounds are going to get worse
If you love Ali dont touch my wound.

I translated it as a wish. But it is a will. So I edited it. We only use the istek kipi(will mood) with the first person (ben) in Turkish now to fill the absence of the imperative mood for first person (ben).

Ex: Let me go

is translated as gideyim. (İstek kipi)

let him go

is translated as gitsin (imperative mood)

go

is translated as git (imperative mood)

Can u give me example

We call it istek kipi. It is different than imperative mood.

Quoting Lololooo

başım gözüm üstüne.

I do not understand this at all.

It was in the following sentence...
"Senden gelen dert de derman da başım gözüm üstüne"
It is normal that you dont understand it because it is an idiom. It means I accept them with pleasure. Sentence means: I accept every trouble and cure coming from you with pleasure.

and this too please... "Kıvrılıp yatayım ayacıklarının dibine."

Let me snuggle beside your feet.

Can anyone help? Thank you.

Quoting nessah

Bir kadın gitmeyi koymuşsa kafasına, buna engel olamazsın..
Sevse de, gider..
Aklı sende olsa da gider, gönlü sende kalsa da gider..
Kaybetmek istemediğin bir kadını, asla incitme!
Çünkü; bunu telafi edemezsin..
Çünkü; kadın vazgeçtiği kalbe yabancılaşır..
Bir kadın karşısında;
- Sıradan bir erkek, beyninde bitmiş bir erkekten daha şanslıdır.

If a woman is determined to go, you cant prevent that.

She will go although she loves you.

she will go even she thinks about you and even her heart is with you.

Never hurt a woman you dont want to lose. You cant make it up.

Because woman becomes estranged from a heart that she gave up.

In the presence of a woman

An ordinary guy is luckier than a given up person.
