When I next go to Turkey I would like to thank the maid for cleaning our room. My attempt at this would be:

odamızın temizliği için tesekkür ederim

Please correct as necessary

Thanks

I received a message with this and I wonder if it is part of a poem or something like that. If anyone can translate it for me I´ll be so thankful.

I realized one day how you had pruned me deeply by scissors and had gone

The ones which you had cut and had thrown had been deep enough not to give a new bud.

I realized that you couldn´t be a cure to my disease that had occured in your absence,

and i realized it was too late for me.

What does it say? I appreciate your translation, thanks!!!

whew whew my nephew. Maşallah ( an expression declaring admiration) It has befitted you.Bravo. So (you say ) brother in law; your shoe was thrown to the roof (your time passed). It was in the past. Your successor overtook you.

Quoting tomac

I have a few questions about this sentence:

1. If I wanted to say something like: "(I´m fine / I have a good day, and) I hope you too have a good day", could I say it this way?

Umarım sen de iyi bir gün geçiriyorsundur. (your translation is better than mine)

2. If yes, does it have exactly the same meaning as gokuyum´s translation?

Or does "umarım ayrıca ..." here mean not "I hope you too..." but "I hope that, besides of all other things, you have a good day" ?

Tomac you are a good learner. Have a nice day.

Here you go. I give you my permission as much as you want. Move away in such a fashion, let your trails not remain on the snow. I made it rain/snow in winter. Didn´t you see it?

You delete a person so quickly. Why don´t you try to understand sev? I guess she has a very dramatic life story.

If having a dramatic life is an excuse to call someone a prostiture, a dog, that our heads are filled with fesses, to tell someone that he or she has taken pleasure in the death of peopel in the earthquake then maybe I should start speaking like sev.  I tried to understand her but to no avail.

I have had a hard life but I do not act like sev, I have to much dignety and respect to do so.  I took offense when she called me a prostitute, I took offense when she called me a dog but I tried very hard to stay calm with her.

The straw that broke the camel´s back, Gokuyum, is when sev told me that I took pleasure in the deaths of peole in the earthquake.  I lost friends in the earthquake in question.

So no, having a dramatic life does not permit you to treat others the way sev has and does not exempte you from following the rules implemented on TC.

You are right too
