Thread: Turkish words for "Heart"

From music I notice that Turkish has several words for "heart".

"yürek, kalp; gönül, can; göğüs; vicdan; merkez, orta"

Which one(S) is more about the bodily organ and which are about emotions?

Quoting AlphaF:

What exactly is 'love' ?

Not many 'love's are endless, or for eternity.
Why do 'loves' end? What happens when 'love' ends?

What happens in the rare cases, when the 'love' does not end?

English seems limited with the single word 'love'.
What is the difference between Turkish words 'ask' and 'sevgi' ?

Is not "sevgi" more platonic than "ask"?

You are definitely not alone... This is a 1982 (old) film that still gets 6.1 stars out of 10. Moviemeter indicates an increasing trend in its popularity.

Note that you could probably not be able to treat the whole cast to a decent dinner, with all the money they spent in making this film.

I will buy the original.

The DVD that I started the thread over however was filmed in 2006 and distributed in 2007. I had to find a VERY big magnifying glass to read the fine print on the case.

what do think, i think so mr. celen. my dear i leave you
to your duties, have a good night rest. yours always.

o zaman ben memnunum, biz iyi zaman gecirecegiz.ne dusunuyorsun, ben bay celen.benim sevgili ben biraktim seni senin gorevinden, iyi geceler dinlen.daima senin.

someone correcting me?

Shouldn't "bay celen" be written "celen bey"?

But to torresm607, I think you would be better off sending just the sentences: first, second and last sentence. the "What do think, I think so mr celen" unless someone knows exactly what you mean you can make a misundertanding, even in English. My humble opinion, sorry to meddle.
