That´s the way it is, boy, what did you think? You need to have a bit of luck, otherwise even if you fuck yourself if it doesn´t happen it doesn´t happen

actually there is a slang here which is not nice {#emotions_dlg.confused}

I would like to say: "i´m great, thanks mom, how about you? school is fine, but i don´t think that i can finnish it this year. how is the weather? say hi to B. kisses."

So this is my attempt:"Cok iyiyim, tesekkürler anne, ya sen? Okul iyi, ama bu sene biteceğini sanmiyorum. Havalar nasil? B´ye selam söyle. Öptüm."

So is this correct? (I don´t know if sanmak is the right verb here)

And can i say "söyle" when i´m writing to my mother-in-law or should i be more polite?

Thanks in advance!

Very good

If you want to use the polite form:

"Cok iyiyim, tesekkürler anne, ya siz? Okul iyi, ama bu sene biteceğini sanmiyorum. Havalar nasil? B´ye selam söyleyin. Öptüm."

(I don´t know if it is necessary though, although respect is nice, using the "siz" form also creates a little bit of distance)

So is it ben okuldayım or just okuldayım?

It is the SAME. But most of the time we avoid using the personal pronoun.

I think this should be:

Bana ne zaman varacağını bildirir misin ?

Because how you translated it Gokuyum, it means: when you´ve arrived (past)

And the question was: when you arrive (so when you are going to arrive, (future)

"vardığın zaman"

here there is nothing indicating past!

var-dık-ın

translation was totally correct.

Merhaba arkadaşım. Sen Gina´nın erkek arkadaşısın, değil mi? Sana onun hakkında sormak ihtiyacı duyduğum bazı şeyler var. Konuşabilir miyiz?

It is not " ...sormak ihtiyacı ..." but "...sorma ihtiyacı..."

or "...sormaya ihtiyaç..." which I think sounds better

"You must have seen from Sophia´s last picture"

In order to mean this, it should have been "Sophia´nın son resminden görmüş olmalısın"

"kızım nasılsın ıyımısın okul nasıl az kaldı ınsallah bu sene bıtecek hadı hayırlısı öptum"

"My girl, how are you? Are you good? How is school? Little is left, I hope you finish it this year. Best wishes. Kisses."

Quote:

I don´t understand what hayirlisi means here..
It is something like "best wishes"... Because we actually mean by that "hayırlısını diliyorum"

How is your studies? or How is your studies going? Thank you

Okuyorsun nasıl? I think lol

Literally "Öğrenimin nasıl gidiyor?"

but just say "Okul nasıl gidiyor?"
