sizin ve aileniz kandili mubarek olsun hocam. Hayirli geceler dilerim.

I really would like to know what this means... thanks

It's a greeting for the upcoming Bayram that kurtlovesgrunge described earlier this week.'Thursday is Regaip Kandil day' on the Turkey forum.

May you and your family have a blessed Kandil,my teacher.

I wish you a good evening.

Quoting Fingerposts:

I am having trouble with this sentence: Neyse ki İstanbul'da hiç kimse ölmedi.
If I ignore the 'Neyse ki' the sentence is: Nobody died in Istanbul (this is from a passage about an earthquake).
Now what does the 'Neyse ki' add to the sentence?
My dictionary tells me that 'neyse' = 'ne ise'which would mean 'what if', but the sentence is not a question.

Neyse can mean 'in any case'or 'anyway'and ki can be used as an idiom 'thus' or 'so it is'
So-Anyway, so it is, nobody died.........
Maybe?
