I know he has to learn; teach him that not all people are honest and fair, but also teach him:
there is a hero for each rascal, for each selfish politician there is a committed leader. Also teach him that there is a friend for each enemy. I know it will take time, but if you can, teach him that an earned dollar is more worthy than five dollars found.
Teach him that he must learn to lose, and teach him how to rejoice in winning. Keep him away from envy. If you can, teach him the mystery of silent laughters.
Let him learn early the seemingly victory of tyrants…if you can, teach him the miracles of books. Also, introduce give him time to think about the everlasting mystery of the birds in the sky, the bees (flying) in front of the sun’s face and the flowers on the green hills.
Teach him that to make mistakes in school is more honourable than to cheat.
Teach him to trust his own ideas, even if everyone tells him they are wrong.
Teach him to be kind towards kind people and tough towards tough ones.
As everyone is following the direction set by others, try to give my son the power not to follow the multitude/go against the stream.
Teach him to listen to all people and only take what is right…
If you can, teach him how to smile even when he is downcast.
Teach him not to be ashamed of the tears he sheds. Teach him to show displeasure with those who claim that everyone works just for their own good and teach him to beware of too much attention.
Teach him to sell his force and brain at the highest price, but never to put a price on his heart and spirit.
Teach him not to shut his ears to a howling crowd.
Teach him to behave himself, but don’t embrace him. Be kind to him but do not hug him. Because only fire can purify steel. Let him be as bold as he is impatient, let him be as patient as he is bold.
Teach him always to bear a firm confidence for himself. Thus he will also wear a firm confidence for humanity…This is a great request…we shall see how much of it you can accomplish. How nice/good he is, the little man, my son…
here are small corrections from me.
