Quoting lady in red

If I want to say ´He was working in a restaurant AS a chef´ - do I use ´olarak´ or ´gibi´.

Grateful for assistance here!

 Well, Reyhan, it all depends on whether the native English speaker is American or English!

Here Sonunda is English, so I guess she, like me, says and more like the "a" in can.

 Thanks Marion-all my grammar books say that the ´a´ is pronounced as in eg ´apple´ ,´cat´ etc.

Nobody has ever told me differently when saying ´canım´ etc. this way.

"a´´ from ´´can´´ is pronounced like ´´u´´ from ´´up´´

...or i dont know how you pronounce ´´and´´ {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Listen to ´can´ in the online dictionary.

Quoting Amber Lonsinger

Hello. My name is Amber and I need help on how to pronounce this name: Alican.

Is it pronounced ´A-lee-see-can´? Or maybe ´Alli-can´?

Please and Thank You,

Amber {#emotions_dlg.pray}

This is not really the right place for this post but........

Ali is pronounced alli and the ´can´ part is ´jan´   so I´d say alli-jan (unless the i is undotted in which case it would be alluh jan)

(the ´c´ is as ´j´ in jam)

My try

I guess you deserve to be praised a little Well here goes: Yes, only "birazdan/yakında" would be an issue, those other things I´ve mentioned are somewhat cosmetic details. it´s perfectly understandable, keep up the good work {#emotions_dlg.nargile}.

{#emotions_dlg.lol}{#emotions_dlg.lol}     thanks!!!
