 oops :S

don´t worry

when you say "arabaya çarptým" it means "I hit the car", but you don´t hit the car, the car hits you, right?

so you should make the subject car, and object you, that´s "araba bana çarptý" (subject, object, verb)

My try.  Could someone fill in the missing parts?

The songtext of ´Ayla Dikmen Anlamazdýn´ from ´Çaðan Irmak’s new film ´Issýz Adam’

While being loved, did not you know?
Didn´t you laugh when I was talking?

In our fortune there´s longing, there´s separation, didn´t I tell?
You didn´t understand, you didn´t understand, you wouldn´t believe to fate also

Oh, you said you wouldn´t be one who gives aches to hearts
I wish you to be happy, my love...

May life smiles at you even when I´m not there

It is your sin, you left a pair of crying eyes behind you.
don´t think that my heart remained empty

the pain passes in time…

I don´t say "Never again" to love...

You´ll see when you´re loving again..
You didn´t understand, you didn´t understand, you wouldn´t believe to fate also

Oh, you said you wouldn´t be one who gives aches to hearts
I wish you to be happy, my love...

May life smiles at you even when I´m gone
It is your sin, you left a pair of crying eyes behind you

not sure about how to translate "günahý boynunda" though...

Ýþim çok meþgul( we would rather say "iþlerim çok yoðun") þu anda ve yorgunum. Yakýn zamanda tatile ihtiyacým var, seninle birkaç  biraz vaktiye vakte (or zamana) ihtiyacým da var.

Please wait for corrections, just a learner.

I would translate it as:

iþlerim çok yoðun þu anda ve yorgunum. Yakýn zamanda tatile ihtiyacým var, ve de seninle biraz zamana.

Thread: Help with ´baþima´

Quoting Uzun_Hava

A native speaker wrote "Baþýma gelen en iyi þey." to mean "best thing that ever happened to me".

I am asking for help with "basima".   I think literally means "toward my head"  but I notice it shows up in a lot of lyrics and movies and I get the feeling it can mean like "in my my mind" or in my point of view, such as "tek baþima" . Can anyone give some more examples and meanings.   Thanks.

yes it is sometimes used in phrases:

baþýna gelmek: to happen ( to someone)

tek baþýna: on his own/on her own; tek baþýma: on my own, etc

baþbaþa: to people together and in private (I know this has been a stupid translation )

baþa çýkmak: get over

baþ döndürmek: to impress

...

also a long phrase came to my mind

baþýndan aþaðý kaynar sular dökülmek:

to have a terrible shock

thanks in advance

correction in Turkish:

Kýz gezme, ince basma,adýndan çok söz edilir.

Sendeki bu iþve anamda olsa, babam geri dirilir.

I think that was a song
