In order to work as a doctor in Turkey, one has to be Turkish and has to study medicine in Turkey.

There has been attempts to change these recently but they were not successful.

- Coming here has made such a difference in my life and I will be no longer the same person I used to be.

Buraya gelmek hayatýmda büyük deðiþiklikler yaptý  ve ben artýk eskiden olduðum  kiþi olmayacaðým.

- I am very grateful for the good things in life and even the bad when I have the strength to learn from them, they always have something to teach.

Hayattaki iyi þeylere minnettarým ve hatta onlardan bir þeyler öðrenme gücüne sahip olursam kötülere de, her zaman öðretecek bir þeyleri vardýr.

- There were still more good times then bad and I will really miss the late evenings we’ve spent, the conversations we had, the wine we drank.

Yine de kötüden çok iyi zamanlar oldu ve geç saatlere kadar geçirdiðimiz geceleri, sohbetlerimizi, içtiðimiz þarabý gerçekten özleyeceðim.

 - I will miss the jokes and laughter that we all shared. Even the tears we shed and all the sad songs we listened to.

Paylaþtýðýmýzý þakalarý ve gülüþleri özleyeceðim, hatta döktüðümüz gözyaþlarýný ve dinlediðimiz kederli þarkýlarý da.

Thanks dilli. The problem with the dictionary is not the word (you see that I write the sentence quite completely). The problem are the suffixes. I listen to some exercises and I try to write the correct form but sometimes the pronunciation of the suffixes is so hard to understand.  Anyway thanks for the advice dilli!

you are welcome and I undestand your problem with suffixes but you sometimes also write the word itself (without suffix) wrong, so I suggested that may be you can check the dictionary to be sure. For example you could have found "haþlanmýþ" and "yaðda" in the dictionary.

good luck!

Thanks so I picked the hardest one to do then.  Head bangI will get you

It might not be so difficult if you find really thin filo pastry. I don´t know if they are sold. Usually women make the pastry themselves and it must be really thin and that´s difficult.

Hi can anyone help.  I am looking for a recipe that has filo pastry with nuts in it I think it is called baklava.  All the ones I have found at the moment have a little turkish in them and finding it difficult to translate it.  I want to make a cake or sweet for my husband and this is the only one I know.  If you have anymore I would be greatfull as I want to try and cook something and thought that cakes would be the easiest thing to start with.

Thanks Cheryl

I don´t have the recipe but what I can say is that it is one of the most difficult sweets to make!

Can someone please tell me the definition of the "sea" in turkish? And if this sentence is correctly written?

I know there are two  seas between us/Aramýzda iki (seas??) var biliyorum

Thanks a lot.

Yes, you can say "aramýzda iki deniz var, biliyorum"

(we don´t use the plural forms of the nouns when we have numbers

i.e.

bir deniz

iki deniz

üç deniz

etc

never "iki denizler", "üç denizler",etc
