hey

Can anyone please help!

My turkish friend sent me a Duman cd which I really like but I dont understand all the lyrics!

Would anyone be kind enough to translate either Bu Aksam, Aman Aman or Seni Kendime Sakladim! (my favourites!)

Thanks so much!

I don't know the other too, but I'll translate the titles.
Aman Aman= Mercy Mercy
Seni Kendime Sakladim = Defending Myself From You (Maybe the native speakers think the connotation is different, i will go listen to the song)

What does "olduğunu" mean?

Thank you!!

It means "that or when you are being/becoming" Its hard to explain without its context to other words. For example

"dıkkatlı olduğunu umarim."
That careful you are being/becoming I am hoping.

It can be like (subject word) "is happening".

If a movie could be made about TLC it would be funnier
than Hababam Sinifi, no one could make up what happens here.

But who could play Catwoman?

Since I think I read the message this replies to, They are answering what you needed translated yesterday or so. No sure how to translate the closing but I am sure that it is polite and cordial. Here is my attempt.

"Good day, I got your message and I am immediately writing back, Thank you.

of Work and school you are very tired certainly. Here the weather is a little chilly.

"This subject Mansur you will be able to meet with. To your family greetings and convey my regards with your grace/charm let it be so. "(Don't know exact English, but I know this a positive closing)

Thread: How does Turkish with an American Accent Sound

Quoting MarioninTurkey:

The worst, for me, is pronunciation of places like Bodrum and Trabzon.

My American friends make the latter sound like it rhymes with Boyzone.

Funny story:

When my daughter ın law was learnıng Turkısh, she engaged a language coach from Trapzone. So when she spoke Turkish in Istanbul it was a "double Whammy", 1 she was a novice and 2) she had copied that "weird accent".

And you've helped explain.
