Herkese merhaba,

I like the song Sana Ne by İsmail YK, and I tried translating it, please could someone correct my mistakes, I think there may be a lot

Yalvardim ama olmadi

I begged but it didn’t happen

Sozlerin beni avutmadi

Your words didn’t comfort me

Gittigin o gunden beri

Since the day you left

Bu kalbim seni unutmadi

This heart of mine didn’t forget you
Biliyorum sen bana aciyorsun

I know you feel sorry for me

Bir gun sende unutursun diyorsun

You say ‘one day you will forget too’

Kalbini aldin gittin benden

You took your heart and left me

Bari hayallerimi bana birak

At least leave me my dreams

Sen beni merak etme

Don’t you worry about me

Sevdigime pisman degilim

I don’t regret that I loved

Cektigim acilar benim degil mi ...

The pain I felt is mine isn’t it

Sanane What’s it to you?

Inan pisman degilim bakma yuzume

Believe that I don’t regret don’t look at my face

seni seviyorsam bundan sana ne

If I love you, what’s it to you?

Seni icimde yasiyorum sana ne

If I’m living you inside me what’s it to you?

Sanane

What’s it to you?

Vazgecmek olmaz senden

There’s no giving you up

Ozlemim cok derinden

My longing is so deep

Kopmayi isteme benden

Don’t want me to break

Bari hayallerimi bana birak

At least leave me my dreams

Siir:
Unut demek kolay, bunu gelde bana sor

Easy to say forget, come and ask me this
Unutamiyorum iste anlamiyor musun

I can’t forget you do you understand
Seni ozlemekten baska birsey yapamiyorum

I can’t do anything else without missing you

Sirf seni yasamak icin yalnizligi seviyorum

Only to live you I am loving loneliness
Yeter ki dokunma hayallerime

That’s enough don’t touch my dreams
Cektigim acilar benim degilmi soyle

The pain that I feel is mine, isn’t it, tell me
Seni seviyorsam icimde yasiyorsam

If I love you,if I’m living inside
Bundan sanane

What’s it to you

Ahh I knew I´d be wrong

silence, in some conversations would it be incorrect to use ´beni´ ? As someone has used that to me in conversation before. I know ´bana´ is correct as that is the one I always hear.

Hello,

I´m wondering if someone can explain when to use ´kolay gelsin´. When I´m on a coach and I get off the coach, could I say to the driver ´teşekkür ederim, kolay gelsin´?

And I always thought it is said when leaving a shop or restaurant, but I saw a lady say it to a shopkeeper as soon as she entered a shop in a movie.

Could we use, for example, ´İyi akşamlar, kolay gelsin´ as both a greeting and a goodbye?

Thank you in advance...

I have so many questions !

Hello everyone, I have a big favour to ask. PLEASE would someone be able to type some sort of script of a full airplane safety demonstration like the cabin crew would say and any helpful phrases you can think of on-board an aircraft? (eg. In the unlikely event of an emergency oxygen masks will automatically fall from above your head..´´ etc)I will be so happy I can even pay someone to do this for me if needed.

Many thanks,

Carla

Teşekkür ederim. What makes it most rewarding is the fact that I´ve now been learning Turkish completely alone for 4 years, no teacher or anything, just from books and trying to speak with people. I have never lived In Turkiye but believe me one day this is my biggest wish. I know I have lots of improvement to do regards pronounciation but I´m even more determined now. As for the amount of views, I am happy for even 1 person to take time to view the video, but as for so many I am completely overwhelmed.

Yakamozzz is so right, and I know how easy it is to think ´I´ll never get it´, but every new word you learn, however small counts, and it´s such a great feeling to listen or read a foreign language and thinking ´hey, I know what that word means!´

This is such a beautiful language, it requires perseverance but we will all get there I´ve been on and off studying for almost 5 years and STILL can´t grasp a lot, I´m still basic,  some days I throw my books down and say ´ahh it´s impossible!´ but the next day I re-read it and it seems more simple.

Cheers to us all for our Turkish-learning ambitions

I needed a challenge as it´s been so long since I sat to study my Turkish, but I attempted some paragraphs, I need my mistakes pointed out please ( probably I got most of it wrong) but to also help me improve, as well as helping this lady read her letters! Thank you

Nasilsin iyimisin? Yuce Allah´tan iyi olman dilerim Beni Soracak olursan iyi olmaya calisiyorum ama senden bana gelen mektup benim daha iyi hissetme sebeb oluyor ve cok mutlu oluyorum. Bana gönderdigim siirleri ve mektubunu bubun aldim ( 07.10.2009 ) senin mektuplarin geldigi zaman ben uyuyordum ve beni uyandirdiklarinda mektuplarini görunce cok sevindim ve mutlu oldum.

How are you, are you well? I wish you well. If you are going to ask me I´m trying to be well but the letter that came to me from you gave me a reason to feel better and I´m very happy. I got the letter and poems that you sent to me ( 07.10.2009 ). When the letter came to me I was sleeping and when they woke me up and I saw your letter I was very pleased and very happy.

Kendini bir daire icin listeye koydugunu yasmissin o evden tasinacakmisin yalnizmi yasayacaksin? Evet biliyorum yasadigin hayatin iyi olmadigini söylemistin bana eyer istersen buradan ciktigim zaman oraya gelmemi istiyorsan Skellefteaýa gelirim ve mutlu bir hayat surebiliriz. Belki bilmiyorsundur burada sadece 6 ay is var yani sezonda kisin hic bir is yok calismak icin yazin gelmesini bekliyoruz. Bu arada Umarim saglik sigortasi senin parani devamli öder. Bende her zaman seni dusunuyorum ve cok özluyorum gercekten burda gunler hic gecmiyor ama senin mektuplarin beni mutlu ediyor. Özur dilerim ben Diananin sana yardimci olugunu sanmistim insallah Turkce konusmayi iyi konusursun Annem ve Babamla konusmak icin

Apparently you put your own apartment on the list will you move from that house, will you live on your own? Yes I know you told me the life you´re living isn´t good, if you want when I leave from here if you want me to come to there I will come to Skellefte and we can continue a happy life. Maybe you you don´t know that there´s only 6 months work here, well in the winter season there´s no jobs, we wait for the summer season to come to work. By the way I hope your health insurance money is paid continuously. I´m thinking of you all the time as well and I miss you so much really here the days don´t pass at all but your letters make me happy. ben Diananin sana yardimci olugunu sanmistim insallah Turkce konusmayi iyi konusursun Annem ve Babamla konusmak icin (not sure on this)

Umarim disalarimiz kabul olur ve bir an önce buradon cikar tekrar özgurlugume kavusurum seninle birlikte Julianayada cok tesekkurle sana yardimci oldugu icin benim icin yaptiklarin her say icin cok tesekkur ederim sevgili Askim seni cok ama cok Seviyorum I Love you so much my Erica!

I hope our  ..disalarimiz.. agree and before one year he/they will leave  from here again I will resume my freedom together with you, thanks to Juliana for helping you, thank you so much for everything you did for me darling my love I love you so much!

I expect that Hakan is sending to play games because he knows my Facebook password, he saw what you sent and he is sending to you too. I don´t want you to cry because I can´t bear watching a person cry. I don´t know Juliana but I think she is a good person. You are writing poems they are very beautiful and emotional I wait for time to read them. I´m calling you * and I want to touch but you are very far to me I can´t see and I can´t touch, when I close my eyes I see your face I have a feeling that you are by my side. I am glad that your Turkish is good , then if you meet my family you can talk Turkish with them and I´m sure that  they will like you very much for that.

(* I know ´seni ariyor´ is he/she/it is calling you but I got confused...)

Evet Baran abim benim mutlu olmami cok ister ve benim burda oldugum icin cok uzuluyor. Tabi bende onun icin cok uzuluyorum Ama insallah bir an önce ikimizde özgurlugumuze kavusuruz.

Yes Baran is my older brother he wants me to be happy and he´s very sad that I am here. Of course I am sad for him too but hopefully before a year we will resume our freedom. By the way Hakan bought 50 euros and he said that you gave him 300 lira, I´m so happy that you went to the shop in Alanya but I´m sad that you didn´t see me.

Bu arada Hakan ba 50 Euroyo getirdi ve ona 300 lira verdigini söyledi senin Alanyada oldugunu dukkona gittigin gercekten cok sevindim ama beni göremedigin icin cok uzuldum.

Özgur oldugumda bana göndermek istedigin bilezigi umarim disarda verirsin ”ASKIM” (???)

Really I wasn´t drunk that night

Seni Sevgiyle Kucakliyor ve Sevgiyle öpuyorum Askim

I kiss and cuddle you with love, my love

I think the literal translation is come to yourself, but it´s meaning is like ´come to your senses´,or ´see some sense´ kind of thing. But I´m not sure, someone will help more I´m sure.

Merhaba arkadaþlar,

I´m looking for some good tests or quizzes to do online, regards vocab or grammar, I know all the basics but I want to really push myself to learn so much more.

Any help much appreciated.

Herkese iyi günler diliyorum.

´Gelimde´

I understand the rest of the sentence but I´m unsure on ´gelimde´.

Does this mean ´when I come´? The whole sentence was ´gelýmde senýnle uzun býr gece gecýrelým´.

Þimdiden teþekkür ederim
