can someone tell me what these lyrics mean? I love this song. and also what are some other good turkish rappers?

fecre dal!..
fedai cembiyeleri ile cenkte kaldi, surlarimda kahpe uyuya daldi.
suretim sarap misali eskidikce degeri artti.
serserim,serim giotin alti.
kalbimde senede kac kez birisi idam aldi?
saibelerim sairimdi, sakaci mecburi sifatti.
rihtimlarimdan gemiler kalkti, yolcular agirladim agir agir.
revanlarim..
gunestim bir ara yagmur, oldum.
kendi deryalarimda kendimi zorla bogdum.
...spekulatif duslerin spazmi var.
stagflasyon onlemliydi, sozumu kesme girisiminde bulunan herkeseydi radikal argolar.
soyle ne zaman bitti aska dair tangolar?
her iste bir racon var.
haydi egoma sponsor ol!..
ecemle ecele giderim. rabbenami bir hic ugru tersledim.
offff hasaaaaaaaa!...
bir dilekti vurgun oldu, vodka redbull cigere doldu.
sagopa nadir sarhoş oldu.
cemre gec de olsa dustu.
kelimelerdi kerimelere ve kertelerime munzeviydim.
dunveyi senaryolarda "rap" denen bahirdim.
munasebetsiz kufru bastim, onurun canini yaktim.
alti senedir aklindayim, cekemedin yoo farkindayim.
rapimtraksin, sen reel degilsin.
yazdiklarina sadik olamadin, soyle kac eslisin?
muaf biraktim seni ve kitlelerini, sarfiyatlarim fiyatsiz..
anonim oldu haykirislarim

az once dogdum
halatim yirmi yedi bogum
sele gitti agustosum
vasiyet etmek istedim sarkilarimi kizima, en sonunda kendimi vurdum.
sarjoru doldurdum..

kostugum bu yolda yarimi sonladim ve kocaman adama dondum.
sanma cok telasliyim, durgunum biraz.
solgunum yuzum, bitkinim ufaklik.
sen de gel pesimden amma cok calis!..
duvarda yazmaz her kural,
yumruk yersin yilma kalk, dayan!..
bu abi yerle cok sevisti.
dusmek hic ayip degil, kalkmasini bil!..
ve acele et su gozyasini sil!..
sagopa idol oldu bak dedim babam, ben dayandim.
buraya kadar geldim 27 adim.
takma kendimden can sikintim, onceden beridir bir olum takintim.
bunu da yuzume vurmasinlar sade evde yuzum asik, disarda sempatik takildim..

The media here makes them look bad - atleast to me. Have you ever seen the show "cops"? They show cops beating up people and getting over aggressive over some freaking weed or something, you think they'd have more important things to be doing than busting people on small amounts of marijuana.

Quoting robyn :

im from england..not only do i not agree with bush's or blair's actions but i also think they should pull out of iraq now..i don't think that undervalues anything that our armies have done..at the end of the day people sign up to the army ion both america and the uk knowing they could be called up to fight..they wereent called up to knit tea cosies
anyway the supposed reason for the war was based on fiction not fact and too many lives have been lost over such a ridiculous idea..in fact everyone knows already the war was for oil..the only purpose this war is serving at present is to create hatred between muslims and non--
muslims which quite frankly is stupid.everyone is their own person no matter their background, colour, religious or sexual orientation.this is only fuelling the problem further by creating such a stupid divide.
its about time people sat up and smelt the roses i don't believe everything that i'm told by any media source because everyone is biased albeit one way or the other..
but i don't blame americans the same as i wouldn't expect to be blamed for our prime minister's actions..they were voted in a majority not totality vote

Robyn I agree with a lot of this too, (though I don't think the initial reason for the war was fiction, I researched sources that contradict what a lot of people say, but I respect your point of view) and personally I can say this.. I'm not a Müslim but I have absolutely nothing against Muslims as a religion, I think it all depends on the person. If non-Müslims are categorizing all Müslims as bad people/terroists, and if they develop a hatred for them, then they are just being ignorant individuals. and yeah... back to the first point someone made on this post, if we all look at people as individuals and not categorize them by the country they live in, or the religion they follow, (or background/color/sexual orientation like you said) I think the world would be a better place.

I agree with Keith that it is very unwise to bring up Bush and start defending in this particular thread. As much as I wish I could keep my mouth shut on this one I'm sorry but.... no can do. I don't think that because a man is proud or believes in himself makes him a good leader and I'm sure that millions of the deads (American and otherwise, innocent civilians, children and etc.)family members would strongly disagree as well, it is not the democrats painting ugly pictures of him its simply the truth. I think friends we have found a good example of a 'brain washed' american here. Anywho... I am certain that most foriegners do have a horrible impression of Americans and my only defense is... 'I don't have one'... I can see exactly why they feel that way. I agree with TC though that there are TONS of great people here but they come in spurts and you can find us right here on sites like these being open minded and interested in other cultures. So libralady I hope if you ever make it here you can hook up with a few of us ... sorry for your bad experiance

The best thing is to be honest with yourself and to look arround you not only under your foot,
Me too don't want to ruin a thread ,and i wouldn't dare to open a thread talk about this too, cause talking will never end,and saving us a headache too we don't need.

İ just want to point out one thing, and you think about it and tell me what you think.

We may agree or disagree about what USA actions.

İ'm saying we agree or disagree with Americans i mean, but most of the word agree on rejecting those actions.
İ don't want discuss that,my point is one thing.

We are adults,we manage somehow to differentiate between American people, and the American's actions.

We learnt to judge every person separately, and judge after hearing him.

But how about kids ?!

How do you expect them to understand this ?
How can you convince them that man who you see him in the news killing people is just opaying the orders, and there are many people who don't want to do this, and there are many good people there.

How do you think they feel about Americans ?

I really hope you're not implying that I'm being ignorant ... because I do look around, I do a lot of research, virtually my entire family has been in the military at one point, many of them are still serving to this day, I have two uncles in Baghdad, and I am in the military as well. (If I could, I would be in infantry but they don't allow women into it) I could never relate to the way a child might feel, because ever since I was very young I understood the war, I understood the duties being a solider sometimes entails because my grandfather served in them all and I could also see the sadness in war as well. I just can't relate to how a foreign child may see this, but I can imagine it must be saddening, frightening and strange/evil maybe.
and yes, trust me, I don't want to ruin a thread either, so I'm going to cease myself from discussing the bush topic. Everyone's entitled to their own opinions and point of views. I don't like to fight or argue either... especially on a usually peaceful site like this. and I'm sorry if I caused too much a disruption in this thread.

Brainwashed? How dare you call me brainwashed, I am personally offended, if you consider brainwashed an individual who researches every source and forms their own opinions about the world, and about their country then so be it. Are you talking about the soldiers? Because here in america you have a choice when it comes to the military, no one is drafted, no one is forced to fight, and American soldiers and proud and they want to serve their country. Having causalities is a part of war, what about Vietnam, WW II, Korea, hell death - its a part of life, innocent people die every day. In the beginning the majority was for this war, they wanted revenge from the terrorists, the generals were all gun ho for it - they blinded themselves of the damage this would cause. Then it seems that as soon as it began, as soon as people started dying, everyone just turned their backs on the country and the president. Personally, I don't think we should have interfered with that country in the first place, but he did what he thought was right, many died but many were also saved too from the insurgents. What more can he do? Do you know how much pressure and stress he has in his position? Are you one of the people who want him to pull out? If he pulled out of war now, then all of the killings that happened would have happened in vain without some sort of victory and I can almost say that I'm certain the destruction would make its way over to America.

hehe, every country had their best and worst...
and America is a great Example...
So what they have the best and worst of the worst.
True they have the worst guy on the planet sitting on the seat.... but it also has not one, but many of the best and most contributive people on the planet.
As for government, it might be that the worst of America is attached to the government, but truly the rest of the nation do their best to help keep America's reputation clean.
{also, there are brainwashed ones, they can be annoying, but good citizens know what to do-keep them busy with their diet}
Anywaaaaaaay,America has the ideal people, ruled by the worst there is.

I agree, every country has their worst and best, and the good and bad. But I have to disagree if you are referring to George Bush as being the worst,(For christs sake look at the presidents of Korea and Venezuela) he's actually a good leader, he may not make the utmost best decisions, but he continues to do what he thinks is right, and doesn't let other people sway him. - He's strong, and he has a backbone, he stands up for himself and I have to admire that. A lot people from the democratic parties are the ones trying to make him out to be this evil person. I met him once when he gave a speech here in Georgia and he's incredibly down to earth and realistic. What I think looks SICK is the blatant hatred some of the americans display toward him, how could that possibly look to other countries - hating your own president that much? In that aspect some people must think we are a little off.

I'm not saying that i'm not nice, I'm just saying, because it sounded kind of strange lol) well anyway he lied to me at first about it and I found out later randomly in a letter he wrote. we had been talking for about 6 months or so, and it was pretty serious or so I thought. My boyfriend is going to army some weeks later, and I know it will be a hard time for him, so i want to send him some sweet words on turkish. Please help me to translate

I know the following 15 months will be hard for you,
I know there is not so much I can do to take the pain away, but baby always remember that your Johanna is here, every second waiting for you. When you need me, just pray to Allah and I will come to you. You are my heart, my soul, my world. I love you more than everything my soulmate. Soon Im your mrs Karaduman. Love, your only Johanna.

Aw no one has helped yet

I can tell you a few things I'm somewhat familiar with I hope someone more fluent comes along and helps though (my comment will help keep your post up)

My try:
You are my heart, my soul, my world:
Sen benim kalbsınız, benim ruh, benim dünyamsın

I love you more than anything my soulmate:
seni birşeyden büyüktür seviyorum ruhevlenim (my try at "soulmate" I'm not sure if this is right, or if turkish has this equalivent)

Soon I'm your Mrs Karaduman:
Birazdan ben senin bayanım Karaduman

Soon I'm your wife:
Birazdan ben karın

Love, your only Johanna
Sevgilerle, senin biricik Johanna

someone helped me understand what you said earlier and I want you to know that before I make any life changes, I'll have everything all planned out, I'll make a logical decision, and I know whats good for myself, so please don't worry about me. knowing that you care about my life means so much to me though, you are so sweet, and I love you very much.

if you found a way to come here I would be so so happy, I want to be with you more than anything else. I think about you all the time..you're in my heart, my dreams, my fantasies.. I'm madly in love with you too.

Her zaman seni düşÃ¼nüyorum..seni benim kalbdasınız, benim rüya, benim fantezie. Ben de seni çılgınlık seviyorum???)

Tradition and religion only make people go backwards, not forward!!

Tradition I agree, but not religion. It is man's interuptation of religion which is at fault, not religion itself.

I do wonder at the women in these families. Do they have no power to defend their child. Do they not complain, go to the police, do ANYTHING at all to defend their child?

It's really sick when a woman is unable to defend her child from these killings, the whole concept of these honor killings is making me sick. I just can't for the life of me understand how their love for the child doesn't overcome this incredibly distorted need to keep a "good" name. I agree with someone else who posted, I can't believe things like this are still going on.

i'll try this is a really rough translation.. I'm still learning

Every night I am saying softly to myself
My sweetheart/dear left (me in?) pain
The pain is too much
Every night
I am saying this to myself at this time
An exalted flame goes in/is under my skin
Heat (this part I don't understand) and it finished
And I am indeed without you (emphasized)
I am saying you
I am realizing, knowing
On purpose by day I'm ruining --- point of view (???klar? I can't understand)
I do not watch just to watch
I watch to actually memorize?
One comes and puts a burden on my shoulder (I don't understand the words with question marks fully)
Another one comes
I love you
If you go, I go (something like that?)

I'm so sorry I couldn't help more. :/ hopefully someone more fluent will come and make sense of this.

hiya fellow language learners hehe.......hows everyone doing? i hope everyone is in an inputting mood cause it seems i need abit of help in translating my letter.....i have attempted some parts but im still really really shakey on how the words should be so hopefully someone can reasure me anyway...........here it goes........

1)hiya XXXX, nasilsin bu gun/gece? im fine but i miss you so much because i love you too much and because you are not here with me! how are your friends in army? i hope they are all good...but mostly i hope you are good, because you are my komando and because you are my love!

2)what are you doing today?
here today, i am with my friends in school, it's ok but a little boring - maybe thats becuase its school, and because its a bit hard.

3)yesterday it was my friends birthday (her name is XXXX) and she was XX. on friday she is having a party and it is fancy dress hehehe my friends are so deli. i hope we won't look too silly.

4)tonight im going to XXXXXXXX with the girls for a party because we have a week's holiday and because its almost my birthday hehehe! oooo i happy now i will be XX soon hehe maybe i will then be able to come alone for you(i hope so). i wish you could be here for my birthday because all i will be thinking about is you!

....................and i think i have the rest sorted, thanks guys ....oh just realised this should say eng-tur lol

my turkish is not the best, but I can try a little! and i'll tell you some of the words my verb, subject, object placement might just be wrong though.

I'm fine, but I miss you so much because I love you too much and because you are not here with me = Ben iyiyim ama seni çok çok özlüyorum çünkü seni fazla seviyorum ve çünkü sen değil burada benimle.

ama = but
seni çok özlüyorum = I miss you so much
çünkü = because
seni seviyorum = I love you (of course you probably know this lol I'm just trying to break it down)
fazla = too much
benimle= with me
değil = not
burada = here

I have to go eat dinner, if someone who is more fluent in the language doesn't reply by time I come back I'll honestly try to write more for you ♥

unutmadan söyleyeyim, eve erkek arkadaşlarını almanı istemiyorum biliyorsun senin için endişeleniyorum ve seni kıskanıyorum,ne yapayım elimde değil seni kıskanıyorum işte,sakın eve erkek kuş dahi alma çünki bunu istemiyorum

I think he's saying not to have anyone over at my house, that he's jealous and upset, not to forget something. damn I don't know, half these words aren't in the dictionary :/ I apologize if this is obscene in any way.

senin için çıldırıyorum, bilmiyorumki senin için ne yapayım,senden ayrılamıyorum ama buna mecburum, sen herzaman her yerde kalbimdesin, sen benim için vazgeçilmezsin, sen benim gerçeğimsin, sen benim nefesimsin, sen benim varlığımsın,sen benim yaşama sevincimsin, sen benim umudumsun, verlığın beni hayata bağlıyor yaşama sevinci veriyor, seninle olunca içim içime sığmıyor, seninle olunca dünyaya sığmıyorum, varmı başka bir gezegen oraya gidelim bir sen birde ben,başka hiç kimsenin olmadığı,aşkım unutma herzaman yanındayım ve sende herzaman kalbimdesin, senin herzaman hissediyorum, hissetmesem yaşamamam, ben sana aşığım ve senin için yaşıyorum sana ulaşamasamda sen benim küçük sevgilimsin ve herzamanda böyle olacak sana hiç ulaşamasamda seni ömrüm boyunca seveceğim ve hiç bir zaman unutmayacağım
kendine iyi bak sevgilim,aşığın (name)

I'm crazy for you, what for you I don't know, I am forced to leave, you are always with me in my heart, you are in my (vazgeçilmezsin???), you are my (gerçeğimsin????), you are the joy of my life, you are my hope, i'm bound to you you bring joy in my life, drink you shallow??? My Love, I also thought of you all last night aswell and you were between my arms in my dream, it was such a nice sensual night for me, I didnt want the dream to end, because you are what I wanted and desired, and you did everything, and made me very happy, to be honest, I couldnt get enough of you, I cannot get enough of you. It really relaxed me and I always want you to be in my arms, and I thought of this all night.

If you were really my wife I thought about how much my life would change and how much this would make me happy, I dont think I would leave the house, I would make love to you forever, a huge part of my life has been spent making love to you, and I have lived all my fantasies with you, but unfortunately you cannot reach what you want, you are my greatest and only desire, I cant tell you how important it is for me to reach you, most of my time is spent thinking of and desiring you, its like iam in a dream world, living my dreams, but even if its only for one night, seeing you in my dreams and being with you made me the happiest strongest man, because in my dream with you we had the most strongest orgasm time and time again, it was like real, it was even more pleasurable than real, you were so nice and hot, can you believe it, I dont remember having had that much pleasure before in my life, and Ive never experienced this feeling before, we made love and it was great, we couldnt get enough, and now I will imagine this forever, it was so great, I cant explain it, you made me feel like a man and that I had lived. I had 2 children by my wife, but can you believe the sex I had with you was a thousand times more enjoyable, I can still feel you, and I cant wait for the day until we are together.

When you don't come online, and when you don't send me a text message for a few days it really makes me wonder...

I'm still going in the airforce when I get everything situated. Teaching is a wonderful career but I don't want to stay here and be a teacher, its not for me.

I was going to be a English/Turkish linguist when I go in the airforce because I love you. I'd go to school for a year in California to learn the language, then they will send me to work in Turkey. But I'm not sure. We don't talk much anymore, and I don't know how you feel about this.. and I would really like to know before I sign any contracts.

I understand you can't come online, and you are probably busy - I have been busy too. But if you get a chance, can you please write me back sometime?

Love,
(My name)

I found this peice in which a Turkish author discusses EU membership. I am very curious about this topic and appreciate any opinions about the benefits and drawbacks of Turkey joining the EU.

Why should she join? Who would benefit? What gains would Turkey make?

Why should she NOT join? Who would lose, what would be lost?

Thank you for feedback,
Christine

The European union? I'd have to look it up to refresh my memory on exactly what it is about.. If I remember correctly, it seems like it would be a good choice. Like I said though I need to go look it up lol

(thank you very much in advance)

My guess is:

I know most of them start with "For you" and "With you" and one is "I want" but some of the longer words I can't find meanings of.

"I'm getting work in america for the sake of this/for you, so I can be with you. Make you happy/you Make me happy. I will love you very much, my darling, FURTHER DOWN: I want to own you? I want to own every part of you? Brand you? You are my fantasy? Words can't express the way I feel about you."
I'm trying to figure out if I should be angry or flattered. lol. I'm so confused, these suffixes are getting me.. and the past two days I've spoke in nothing but german because a german friend is visiting, I just need to be refreshed a little.

Just curious, why are you living in the U.S. if our governments so terrible? You also realize your tax dollars are contributing to the weapons that are being used in Iraq. Putting Sadaam Hussein on trial and your questioning this? Let me guess you voted for Carey. I apologize ahead of time for sounding harsh, however if you hate all of these things, maybe living abroad would be a better choice for you.

I'm sorry I thought we had freedome of speech in our country. Which doesn't mean that I can 'only' live here if I agree with every act that our government does. I love how 'American' you sound by pointing out that if I speak my mind and deeply dislike anything I should pack my bag and leave. Well, honey I didn't ask to be brought here. If you didn't want my voice or my attitude go back and tell our founders to stop chaining africans to the bottom of boats and selling them in the U.S. That is how I got here. So, if I sound a little upset yes I am.. But after our nation stripped us of our culture, language, religion and nearly our humanity now you want to say leave! Please honey! I pay taxes and vote and I can HATE our government's actions. That is my right as a U.S. citizen. Also, I do not have a say as to where my tax dollars go...I voted and the candidate that I did not want to make this decision is still in office. I have to wait until next elections to voice my opinion and hopefully others will agree. Oh, and if you don't agree with me...you are welcome to even be my neighbor. I think our country should have diversity in ethnicity and opinions.

You do have freedom of speech, my point exactely! But when you express yourself so negatively, I HATE this I HATE that it doesn't get you anywhere. I sound so American, because ironically enough I am. As far as being chained to a bottom of a boat and brought here, I think your exaggerating this. Maybe your ancestors, but then again it sounds like your playing this card like so many do. Let's blame the white people for everything. The Indians are who I feel bad for. I do agree with you on one thing, diversity is welcomed here. In fact, I welcome anyone who wants to come here to work and support our ecomony. I'm tired of supporting the welfare.

Their own kind from Africa are the ones who actually organized the slave trades and sold them off to the white people to make money. So it wasn't just the white people. I have nothing against the person who said this.. but I must say: To bring up slavery, or to even say that she was forced to live here by being chained to a boat is just downright ridiculous and petty, it happened to the ancestors, not directly to you..

Rain I can see your point, but she didn't mean anything that bad by what she said, if you see things through her eyes she has been through hell and a similar experience to mine (we have talked through private messages, she is honestly a good person) and you can't blame her for saying that. you have to try and place yourself in her situation. The western culture is not all about profanity, if you take one incident and judge the entire culture by it, i'm sorry, that is being slightly narrow minded. you really just have to look at each different culture on an individual basis, without any bias toward one another because they are all so different. for example there are some things about the Turkish culture I don't like, but it doesn't change my entire opinion about it, I still think it's a wonderful culture I want to learn more about. Everyone deserves to be treated on an individual basis.. I'm just trying to make peace of this situation, I'm going to finish reading all the comments and leave a longer one later

After talking to my military recruiting officers, I found out that there is a great chance I will be stationed in Turkey after my training is complete.

Even the officers I talked to have been to Turkey multiple times, some even went to Istanbul. so it is very common.

maybe if we keep in touch we can meet as friends if/when I am stationed there?

i sincerely hope you are able to make things work with your wife, I want you to be happy, and I want you to have a good life.

I am curious about jobs available in Turkey, specifically Istanbul as well It seems like the only good jobs are for English teachers, and I don't have teacher qualifications either. I've heard some people say that you don't have to have a degree to be a private English teacher, and on the contrary I've heard people say a degree is a must, so I don't know. I'd really like to find out though.

I agree with everyone else pretty much..

This is a very dangerous situation, because you are so young, you don't fluently know the language, and there are a lot of evil people out there who would try to take advantage of that.
I can honestly understand your frustrations though. Good things will come to you. It may sound condescending, but I say this from experience: patience is truly a virtue. Please please take care of yourself, and I honestly wish the best for you.

Something that happened "Tonight" with the call..he also says My only one, I love you, (I'm a little angry at this point because I'm starting to think he's playing some kind of game with me.)

seni çok seviyorum aþkým,sana olan aþkýmý kelimelerle ifade etmek mümkün deðil,seni çok seviyorum ve herzaman seninle olmak istiyorum, daima seni düþünüyorum, seninle yatýp seninle kalkýyorum, sen benim ekmeðim suyum aþýmsýn,sen benim umudum,yaþama sevincimsin, senin varlýðýn beni hayata baðlýyor,yaþama sevinci veriyor, sen benim soluðum aldýðým nefessin, sensiz yaþayamam, sen benim güneþimsin, seni çok çok çok seviyorum ve daima seveceðim

As some of you know I'm in a really bad situation now. I considered this guy a good friend, so I don't want to write a mean message in reply.. but I need to get this off my chest and end this or else I will never be at peace. I feel so horrible. and I'm so sorry for striking controversy about marriage on this form, I have respect for all of you and I just didn't mean for this to happen.. at all

I simply want to tell him:

- I am appalled that you lied to me.

- This entire situation is eating away at me.

- I can't go on like this/I can't continue this.

- You need to get things straight/settled with your wife.

- I don't want to hurt/damage a marriage.

- I wouldn't be able to live with myself knowing that, and this is tearing me apart because I can't stop thinking about everything.

I was wondering if any kind person would be willing to help me with this letter, to translate it into Turkish. I know a few phrases, so the ones I already know I'm going to exclude. Thank you so so so much in advance

The letter that I want to write:

I am so sorry I missed your call last night, I have been looking forward to talking to you and hearing your voice for a long time, so I was very sad when I woke up and saw your missed call on my cell phone. My schedule is demanding right now and I'm exhausted by the end of the day.. Hopefully we can talk this weekend. You don't know how much I have missed you, and honestly, words can't even begin to explain how much you mean to me. You are on my mind constantly. I'm learning Turkish, soon we will be able to have better conversations, and I know in the end this will all work out because I have so much love for you. I hope you are having a great week, and i'll talk to you soon

Oh wow add me to the boat too. I have a Turkish boyfriend and I'm an 18 yr old female currently living in America. he's never asked me for money or anything, he doesn't have much money though either. Sometimes I feel like I'm doing something completely crazy... my family atleast thinks it's insane..that he's using me because I'm a lot younger than he is. but I'm following my heart and I quit caring what they say. sometimes I feel so lost though. I hope I can go over and see him soon, i'm looking for internships that will send me. Just follow your heart, and there's no harm in going again if you already have it booked, just tell him that you don't have much money and if he really cares he'll drop it. I honestly wish you the best of luck with this!!

Sincerely,
Evadne
